Ayr Nails aftercare advice
Taking good care of your enhancements:
- Wear rubber gloves when doing housework and gloves for gardening
- Use cuticle oil daily, this will keep your enhancements flexible and moisturised.
- Use a non-acetone nail polish remover.
- If having to file your nails, do not use a metal nail file.
- Do not use your nails as tools; remember they are your jewels.
- Pick things up with the side of your fingers.
- Use knuckles, pads on your fingers or even a pencil for switches or dialling a phone etc.
- Ensure a good diet- a supply of calcium, iron and vitamin A are all necessary for good nail health
- If any reaction occurs contact me immediately.
Regular maintenance appointments are essential so that checks can be made on the nails to ensure they are kept in perfect condition.
Ayr Nails - We do not use MMA
Methyl Methacrylate is a chemical substance known as MMA, it is used to make plastics and resins, and can be extremely damaging to the nail bed, as well as the possibility of irritation to the nose, eyes, throat and skin. In order for the adhesion of MMA to the nail plate, the natural nail has to be "etched", which in itself causes severe damage and trauma and of course pain, remember getting enhancements should not be sore but a pleasurable experience.
MMA nails are very hard and strong and therefore non flexible, therefore, if the nails are knocked etc., this results, not only in the loss of the enhancement but often your own nail as well. The removal of MMA is not easy. The MMA when soaked off gives a "chewing gum" type appearance and often takes a considerable amount of time for removal, as opposed to a normal 20 minute soak off using a professional product. I have found through experience that it is best to rebalance MMA until the product has grown out, which avoids any further trauma to the natural nail.

You'll naturally want your new nail enhancements to look great all of the time, and it is possible to keep them looking great by taking just a little extra care in your everyday routine. Follow the guidelines on the left and you wont go too far wrong.
